BIO

Jeremy's Bio Image, showing him with his cello, awash with dramatic lighting that creates the texture of leaves over his face, with golden backlighting for a cinematic feel. The background wall is flat concrete with the organic lighting texture overlayed, giving the image depth. The composer's face is calm and his eyes are closed, suggesting a connection to nature and mindfullness in his creative art.

JEREMY ZERBE (MM) sees music in color. With this neurological condition (synesthesia), he interprets all sounds as a shifting landscape of light: an experience which has guided him towards multimedia storytelling. Zerbe’s film scores have premiered nationwide in Dolby Atmos, and his critically acclaimed theatrical compositions have been featured in Pepperdine University’s mainstage productions through immersive surround sound since 2021, where he also serves as an adjunct professor.

Zerbe’s work extends to commercial and digital media. His meditation and breath work music is featured on the Open App [Editor’s Choice Award], and his album orchestration for singer/songwriter ByHaze topped R&B charts on Apple Music [#2 Album, Dec. 2025]. His cello-centered compositions are featured in commercials, TV broadcasts, live experiences, and brand activations across LA.

Jeremy has written for distinguished ensembles including the Budapest Scoring Orchestra, PRISMA Orchestra in Boston, Sophia Symphony Orchestra, Con Brio String Orchestra, Brightwork New Music, and the Los Angeles Brass Alliance, collaborating closely with a network of internationally recognized session musicians and conductors. He is a member of the Society of Composers and Lyricists (SCL), ASCAP, Golden Arrow PR, and the Scottish Fiddlers of Los Angeles. He received degrees in Music and Advertising from Pepperdine University, and a Masters in Music Composition from California State University Northridge.

Inspired by the full harmonic spectrum of his cello and a fascination with infinite sequences, Jeremy aims to create music that immerses the listener in a vivid sonic environment. Originally from the beautiful Finger Lakes region of Upstate New York, he is an avid hiker, camper, and world-builder for tabletop games. You can hear him perform throughout Los Angeles with orchestral and Celtic ensembles. Jeremy writes from his studio in the Hollywood Hills.

Biography
J.Z. Signature
His hand reaches towards the sunset in Runyon Canyon Park, close to where he lives. The long fingers are whistful as they touch the rainbow colors, framed by the blurred texture of a stand of trees. The image is meant to represent the composer's synesthesia, reaching for the colors of music in his mind. The trees add organic inspiration to the image, and the light balances the photo on the right which is also at sunset.
Primary portfolio image, showing the composer looking down softly with cello fingerboard in hand, backlight with a golden edge. The background is warm and pink, with a camera blur. He has a nostalgic smile and profesisonal lighting, with an open relaxed hand and simple white sweater. The carved scroll of the instrument is an aesthetic centerpiece of the photo.
His shadow is cast against a wall, with golden hour lighting shining through rafters looking almost like the keys of a piano. The photographer used a red gradient lens, so the image has a sunset tone. The composer's silhouette is full-body, with a prominant nose and arms at the ready. He looks to the left, balancing the focal point of the multi-image gallery.

Testimonials

"Jeremy is an attentive listener and a true artist, since we started collaborating in 2022. Whether he’s working in person or remotely, he always delivers a sound that feels aligned with the world I’m building.

In my recent documentary and album (topping R&B charts at #2 on Apple Music), Jeremy made the vision a reality by enhancing the project with orchestral colors. His film score, album intro, and transition tracks were well received by audiences and added a special warmth to the experience. He is a resourceful artist who has access to a network of talented musicians spanning genres, and I look forward to creating and releasing more into the world with him–and affirm that investing in him is a worthwhile investment for you."
